throughout the communities of Norfolk & Waveney

March 2020 was a month that changed the world with the outbreak of Covid-19.

We had a choice to make, furlough or carry on and adapt.

Mandalay Wellbeing CIC was formed to help people, so we carried on, and adapted.

For the last 3 years we had been working closely with Fareshare and other food distributors to support our groups. Very quickly we saw the need for nutritious food and essential items to be supplied during lockdown to people in need.

As a team, we have delivered food & essential items across Norfolk and Waveney, taking over newly available Fareshare and other collections as other groups and organisations went into furlough or were unable to run groups etc, due to Covid-19.

From March 2020 to March 2021 we have distributed over 18000 food parcels plus essential items such as toiletries, sanitary products, clothing, household items and much more. We continue to do so.

So many people, groups and businesses have supported us including Tesco Caister, Extra Great Yarmouth, Stalham, Lowestoft and Beccles. Asda Great Yarmouth, Waitrose & Partners Eaton, John Lewis & Partners Norwich plus many more groups and organisations. We are very grateful for your support.

We are also extremely grateful for the funding supplied by Unltd, TNL Community Fund, Norfolk Community Foundation, WRAP and many others, which has enabled us to keep going and improve our service and reach.

We could not have done this without everybody’s support.

All women and girls should have access to sanitary items during their period. That’s why we distribute these essential items to those in need. If you are need of support with your periods, then please get in touch. We have a number of female volunteers that are here to help Monday to Saturday for your sanitary needs.
